financial controller – new appointment by trm
“WHAT ATTRACTED ME TO trm was its attitude to solving customers’ problems and delivering success,” says Jeremy Eastham, newly appointed to the key role of Financial Controller. Thirty-eight-year-old Jeremy has a strong track record of positively and profitably supporting commercial activities across a range of business sectors. He joins trm from the pharmaceutical firm Cardinal Health, having previously applied his expertise to the engineering, manufacturing, design and housing markets.
Jeremy prides himself on his “business focus, hands–on skills and experience in systems implementation”, all of which complement his thorough knowledge of accountancy in large-turnover commercial concerns. He believes that trm ’s client-friendly strategies spell out a healthy future for the team he has just joined: “Our approach will continue to make trm successful in a competitive market. The industry is also dynamic and requires real customer focus to respond to the changing requirements of the customer and marketplace.
In addition to Cardinal Health, Jeremy’s previous employers include Hunts Engineering (making vehicle crankshafts), Goss Graphic Systems (manufacturers of newspaper presses) and Ricardo (an engineering group supplying design solutions to the nuclear, automotive and aerospace industries). “My manufacturing background stands me in good stead,” he says. “Turning resources into product that appeals to customers is the same whether it’s crankshafts or corrugated cases. But because this business works to short lead times, there’s a special dynamic – also I enjoy being part of an entrepreneurial team, which you don’t always experience in large corporations.”
At home, Jeremy’s “team” comprises his wife and himself, a two-year-old daughter and a new son aged 12 weeks. His interests away from work include outdoor pursuits, especially mountain biking, and playing guitar.
