Ed heads off!

Strange and raucous goings-on were recently reported in Burscough, where Ed Morris - who is about to leave for a year’s sabbatical in Chile, was given a stunningly, stylish send off.  The chosen venue, historic and reputedly haunted, Briar’s Hall, was treated to the TRM team and guests in wildly diverse sartorial splendour!  Amongst the attendant “celebrities” were Marilyn Monroe, Sergeant Pepper, Pocahontas and at least three Musketeers.

The party wouldn’t have been complete without representatives from one of our largest customers, the 2 Sisters Food Group.   Dedicated to their account for several years now, Ed has been responsible for assisting them on both the commercial and technical sides of the business, so they know him well – but they had to admit they had never seen him dressed quite like this before!

Resplendent in red gown and gloriously golden locks was Purchasing Manager for 2 Sisters Food Group, Amanda Barratt-Wright. “Ed is very highly regarded by everyone here at 2 Sisters and although we shall miss him, we had a fabulous time at his leaving “do” and the welcome home party’s already booked!”  A stylish Cleopatra emerged in the form of Jenny Kenyon, who is their Marketing  Manager, while Steve Rooke, Packaging Development Manager for the company, was just about seen behind a swarthy wig, proudly twirling his moustache.  Steve would like to add that “Ed is a top bloke who’s become an integral part of the 2SFG’s packaging development team over the last couple of years,” but says there is something puzzling him; Why would anyone want to leave the glamorous surroundings of the poultry & corrugated industries in favour of travelling to the other side of the world in search of adventure?!”

Ed is, however, temporarily leaving the creative world of packaging design behind him as he embarks upon this exciting assignment - teaching English to young Chilean children.  In between all the educating, he and his girlfriend Becky, who will be joining him, are hoping to get some time off to go trekking in the mountains.  We all wish him well and look forward to his return in Spring 2008 when we shall, no doubt, hear more about his Chilean antics.
